“If you say no to plastic cutlery while ordering food from outside,
You are an environment protector.
If you take a cloth bag along with yourself while going out shopping,
You are a nature conservator.
If you reuse the water to water your plants when you wash vegetables,
You are a water conservator like your Teetar Daadi.
If you follow sustainable life and understand ‘less is more’,
Then dear children you are an environment protector.”

This heartwarming display of intergenerational wisdom, is brought to life by the talented RJ Payal from Radio City, Nagpur, who plays the role of Teetar Daadi to share her pearls of wisdom with her granddaughter. The granddaughter has a school project centred around “Environment Protection” to complete.

This delightful skit, aired on Radio City, Nagpur, emerged as a product of the Mission LiFE Workshop, held on May 19, 2023.

The workshop served as a platform for over 80 radio professionals to come together and contribute their expertise, inspiring the creation of this heartfelt performance. In another aired message, RJ Vinay from Radio Dhoom, Jharkhand in a sing-song message calls the listeners to save the environment with simple tasks:

“In our homes and lanes, let’s plant a tree,
For clean air, for our health, you see.
Remove smoke, dirt, and pollution’s grasp,
Brother, saving water is our urgent task.
Polythene bags harm the environment’s grace,
Switch to jute bags, a better embrace.
Leaves outside, don’t burn, let them be,
Save fuel in cars and bikes, wisely.
Energy is a blessing we must not waste,
Water, a giver of life, let’s not haste.
Plant a tree each day, a simple deed,
Protect the environment, every day we need.
Save energy, save water, let’s be wise,
For upcoming generations, a precious prize.
Brother, understand this call so clear,
Together, let’s make a difference, no fear.”

More such radio products have been received from RJs from around the country.
