It’s very convenience is it’s downfall. This kind of plastic has severe environmental implications primarily due to its non-biodegradable nature. These plastics release toxic chemicals which pollute nature in every way. Although addressing this problem requires a prolonged approach. In this creative-radio spot titled – “Plastic To Doori, Dharti Lai Zaroori” (Distance from Plastic, makes EARTH fantastic), the message of adverse effects of using single use plastic on human race and nature is given with an aim to create awareness among masses so that they can learn to ‘Say No To Single-Use Plastic’

Translation: Distance from Plastic, makes EARTH fantastic (Market noises) Male (1) – That’s good, I have bought many vegetables today, my wife will be happy! Okay brother, just do this. Please put all these vegetables in separate bags. Male (2) – So many bags? Male (1) – Oh Well! How does it matter? After all, I have bought so much of vegetables and these are very small bags. Hence, it will not make a difference. Male (2) – How does it matter? Don’t you know about the disadvantages of using plastic? Do you know that every human being ingesting at least 5 grams of microplastic every week, in some form. In fact, we haven’t even spared the highest peak, Mount Everest. A huge mound of plastic has accumulated there as well. Shockingly, garbage amounting to almost a truck-full of garbage is dumped into the ocean every minute. In fact, one will be surprised to know that by the year 2050, there will be more of plastic waste in the oceans than fish and other sea animals! Do you know that only 9% of plastic can be recycled and maximum amount of plastic is used as a packaging material. This material is disposed off after use. This is what is known as ‘single-use plastic’. Male (1) –But (looking sad and shocked), how do you know all this? Male (2) - How do I know? (Looking sad) My daughter has developed a serious lung disease. According to the doctors, overuse of plastics is the main cause of her disease. Actually, I have even heard that due to this disease like cancer…. Male (1) – Oh….oh…That’s enough…please… From today, no more use of plastic Brother, you please keep my vegetables aside. I will just get a cloth bag from home. Moral Female voice – Single use plastic is very harmful for health as well as nature. Please avoid using plastic.
