The Radio4Child Awards 2022 were organized immediately after the World Immunization Week (WIW) from 24 April to 30 April. The theme for the year’s WIW was #LongLifeForAll, with ‘long life’ reflecting the importance of lifespan vaccinations, and ‘for all’ reflecting the importance of vaccine equity. It celebrated the long history of vaccination in a tone of gratitude, care, and love.
The theme allowed us at Radio4Child to express our gratitude to all stakeholders including scientists, vaccine manufacturers, technicians, vaccinators, ASHA workers, frontline workers, ANMs, Anganwadi workers, parents and teachers who are working tirelessly in the country to ensure every child gets vaccinated in India against all deadly diseases. The theme allowed us to thank You – the radio fraternity for your unstinting support during the pandemic and for being the voice.
During the World Immunization Week, we had invited you to send us your radio products that you have created to raise awareness on Routine Immunization and spread their message of ‘Long Life For All’. We received over 100 products ranging from interviews, jingles, rap songs, Promos, RJ Links and even videos from all over India.
While the Radio4Child Awards 2022 celebrated the hard work put in by you, we did not want to make this hard work a competition, hence there were no rankings in 2022. You all were our winners.
The Awards were given by Grammy Award winner and UNICEF Celebrity Supporter Mr Ricky Kej.
